In 2024, Forbes declared Robert Kuok the richest man in Malaysia. It also declared him the richest man in Malaysia the previous year, and the year before that, and the year before that, and so on — Kuok has managed to maintain this position for _over 20 years._ His net worth of 11.8 billion (as of [2025](https://archive.is/tYy2y)) comes from the Kuok Group conglomerate and its diverse array of businesses in foodstuffs, agriculture, hospitality, and real estate. While he was born to a wealthy father, by the time he got his start in business, Kuok was of modest means. He laid the foundation for his empire over the next 30 years.
