The first ever iPhone was unveiled by Apple CEO Steve Jobs in 2007, in what is today considered a legendary demo of a legendary product. A big part of Jobs’s presentation was a section about keyboards. At the time, most phones had physical keyboards — plastic chiclets that occupied the bottom half of the phone, below a small screen.
