For those who are technically curious, this was implemented using Meilisearch — a wonderful, run-on-a-single-VM, open-source project that is really quite easy to use. Bennett completed it after a morning of work with help from a clanker.
We really should have prioritised doing this earlier, given how straightforward it turned out to be, and that’s partially my fault. We’ve been spending too much time on the podcast project (the one where we’re converting all of Commoncog’s essays and cases to audio.) But reality has a lot of detail and so the final 20% of that project has turned out to be yet another 80% of the work, in order to guarantee high quality.
But that’s still no excuse! Not with clankers available to us!
